The 4 assignments within the City & Guilds Design Unit that are common across all craft disciplines have been combined into a single online, self paced course.

Unit 101 - Exploring Design Ideas

Unit 102 - Using sampling techniques for 2D and 3D work

Unit 201 - Developing Design Ideas

Unit 202 - Using sampling techniques and processes for 2D and 3D work

By exploring some simple design elements and principles you will discover how to select and combine these building blocks in order to develop design ideas that tell the story of, and evoke the desired emotional response to, your work.

You will be guided through each element or principle step by step. There are activities for you to complete along the way, the results of which will build up into your Design Portfolio ready for assessment.
